The highly anticipated Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2024 kicked off today with a star-studded lineup of performers. From Lana Del Rey heading the main event to new mom Suki Waterhouse bringing her mystic charm on stage, Hollywood pop stars set the tone right for the music festival. However, one act that fans on the internet can't stop gushing over came from K-pop boyband Ateez. The eight-member group took charge at the Sahara stage on April 12 at 10:45 p.m. PST as they kicked off their Coachella debut, becoming the first K-pop boy band to grab this feat.
Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho of Ateez sent K-pop enthusiasts into a tizzy, delivering show-stopping performances that displayed their global influence. Bringing their popstar charm to the stage, the group turned their setlist into their own concert. Atinys, fans of the group, have now taken to social media to celebrate Ateez's remarkable Coachella piece, as various keywords like ‘Chellateez,’ ‘Ateez at Coachella,’ ‘My Ateez,’ ‘Ateez Present,’ ‘Ateez Summer Tour’ and more continue to trend on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Addressing the crowd, Jongho sneaked in a mind-boggling spoiler of their potential summer tour, saying, “We don't want tonight to end. If only it could last forever. But, I guess, we can pick back up for another show another time, maybe this summer? I will tell you about it later.”
LE SSERAFIM will set the stage ablaze on Saturday, April 13, at Coachella’s Sahara tent stage. Their performance is scheduled from 10:50 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. PT/PDT (11:20 a.m. IST–12:00 p.m. IST). The group, consisting of Sakura, Chaewon, Yunjin, Kazuha, and Eunchae, previously spoke about BLACKPINK's iconic performance at the event, acknowledging the group's impact on the global scene.
For the uninitiated, BLACKPINK was the first Korean act to perform at Coachella.
