BTS member RM revealed on April 25 that his second solo album, titled ‘Right Place, Wrong Person,’ is set to release on May 24. The album will include 11 tracks, blending ‘alternative music and rich sounds,’ according to a press release.
According to an announcement on Weverse, the album explores relatable emotions like the feeling of being an outsider or not fitting in.
‘Right Place, Wrong Person’ showcases aspects of RM as a solo artist, separate from his work with BTS. Big Hit Entertainment stated that the album delves into RM's true essence.
Currently, RM and other BTS members are fulfilling their mandatory military service in South Korea. RM, along with V, Jimin, and Jung Kook, began his enlistment last December.
Despite all seven members of BTS currently serving in the South Korean military, they continue to release new music. RM, the group's leader, is collaborating with several colleagues to release previously unreleased work, showing their commitment to music even as their military service takes precedence.
RM's debut solo album, ‘Indigo,’ was released in December 2022 and quickly made an impact on charts worldwide. Although it initially debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 in the U.S., its success grew significantly with the release of the physical edition. The album climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard 200, becoming one of the most successful albums by a South Korean solo musician in U.S. history.
Aside from his solo album, RM has released two mixtapes. He began his solo career in 2015 with a self-titled project, followed by ‘Mono’ in 2018. ‘Mono’ marked his first solo entry on the Billboard 200, reaching a peak position of No. 26, which was a significant achievement at the time.
