BTS member Suga is under massive scrutiny due to the drunk driving controversy. South Korean lawmakers are now considering bringing in stricter punishment for illegal driving of e-scooters in the wake of Suga’s controversy.

Democratic Party of Korea’s representative proposed a revision of Road Traffic Act. The opposition party member is seeking to increase the fine for driving a motorized bicycle without a proper license upto 1 million won. Another lawmaker proposed a bill seeking to impose the same level of punishment for drunk driving personal mobility vehicles as for a car.

Suga of BTS is currently serving his mandatory military service as a social agent. He was booked for driving an electric scooter under influence earlier this month.
