Los Angeles, Oct 2 (PTI) Jason Statham is set to return to the big screen with his upcoming action thriller "Shelter," slated for a January 30, 2026 release. Directed by Ric Roman Waugh, known for his work on "Greenland," the film is produced under the banners Black Bear, Punch Palace Pictures, CineMachine, and Stampede Ventures.

According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, "Shelter" features not only Statham but also stars Bodhi Rae, Naomi Ackie, and Bill Nighy. The story centers on a reclusive man residing in a remote seaside house. His life takes an unexpected turn when he rescues a young girl from drowning during a fierce storm, setting off a chain reaction that brings violence to his doorstep, forcing him to reckon with his past choices.

In addition to "Shelter," Statham will appear in "The Beekeeper 2," directed by Timo Tjahjanto and penned by Kurt Wimmer. This film serves as a sequel to the 2020 hit of the same name. The cast also includes talents such as Jeremy Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi, Jemma Redgrave, and Yara Shahidi.

The film is distributed worldwide by Amazon MGM Studios, with production and financing by Miramax. Producers include Statham himself through his Punch Palace Productions, Chris Long for Longshot Productions, and Kurt Wimmer.

The original "The Beekeeper" was a box office triumph, grossing over USD 162 million globally. Directed by David Ayer, it followed a former government assassin who embarks on a quest for vengeance, with Statham as the leading character.
