The list of nominees for the International Emmy Awards 2023 has been announced. It features 56 nominees from 20 countries across 14 categories. Indian stars Shefali Shah, Jim Sarbh and Vir Das are among the nominees.
Shefali earned a nomination in Best Performance by an Actress category for her role in the Netflix series Delhi Crime Season 2. The other nominees in this category include Denmark’s Connie Nielsen, UK’s Billie Piper and Mexico’s Karla Souza.
Sarbh secured the nomination in the Best Performance by an Actor category for his work in the SonyLIV series Rocket Boys. He shares this nomination with Argentina’s Gustavo Bassani, UK’s Martin Freeman and Sweden’s Jonas Karlsson.
Vir Das has been nominated for a Netflix comedy special titled 'Vir Das: Landing'. The other nominations in this category are France’s Le Flambeau, Argentina’s El Encargado and UK’s popular comedy show Derry Girls Season 3.
Producer Ekta Kapoor will get the International Emmy Directorate Award at the 51st International Emmy Awards Gala.
In a statement, Jim Sarbh expressed his happiness about being nominated for an International Emmy and said, 'I am overwhelmed and excited to be nominated under the Best Actor category at the International Emmy Awards for my portrayal of Dr. Homi Bhabha in Rocket Boys. The event is scheduled to take place on November 20, 2023 in New York City.
