New Delhi, Nov 3 (PTI) - The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) is set to unveil India's first Artificial Intelligence (AI) film festival and hackathon.

This inaugural event, launched in partnership with LTIMindtree (LTIM) and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, will take place from November 20 to 28, 2025, during IFFI's 56th edition in Goa.

Collaborating with LTIMindtree’s BlueVerse CraftStudio and NFDC, the festival seeks to offer a vibrant platform for filmmakers, creators, technologists, and innovators. Their goal is to explore AI-driven storytelling tools and unveil inventive creative applications that are shaping the future of cinema.

"Cinema has always mirrored the strength of human creativity. Today, AI presents a novel perspective that broadens our capabilities to dream, design, and convey," remarked Shekhar Kapur, Festival Director, IFFI, and Jury Chair of the IFFI AI Film Festival. "The IFFI AI Film Festival will serve as a crucible for this transformation."

Sujay Sen, Executive Vice President & Global Head of Interactive Services at LTIMindtree, expressed, "At LTIMindtree, we recognize that the future of storytelling lies at the intersection of human creativity and AI. Through this initiative, we're thrilled to establish a platform dedicated to fostering innovation and introducing the enchantment of AI to India’s creative economy."

Shri Prakash Magdum, Managing Director, NFDC, elaborated that the alliance will enable extending IFFI's "creative legacy into the world of AI with responsibility, inclusivity, and a vision for global collaboration." This AI Film Festival and Hackathon will present a myriad of experiences, such as an AI Film Showcase featuring AI-generated films spanning fiction, documentary, animation, and experimental genres.

Additionally, a 48-hour Hackathon will encourage developers and storytellers to devise groundbreaking AI-powered cinematic tools. Workshops and masterclasses will provide interactive discussions on various subjects, including AI in film production, ethical storytelling, and creative technology.
