Actor Zac Efron, who was hospitalised after a minor swimming accident in Spain, took to Instagram to share his health update with his fans. He revealed he was on the mend while thanking fans for their concern.
‘Happy and healthy – thanks for the concern,’ the star wrote sharing a photo of himself pumping weights. The image captured the actor precariously balancing his back on a gym ball.
The post follows Efron's hospitalization on August 2 after a reported swimming accident.
A representative told TMZ that Zac Efron suffered a ‘minor swimming incident’ at a villa pool on the Spanish island on August 2. The ‘Iron Claw’ star was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Details of the incident remain unclear, but villa staff reportedly had to pull Efron out of the pool. He was released from the hospital on August 4 morning and did not elaborate on the incident in his Instagram post.
Efron has faced scary incidents before. In 2022, he told Men’s Health about breaking his jaw in a near-fatal accident after falling into a granite corner of a fountain while running around his home with socks on. He described his jaw bone as ‘hanging off his face.’ Efron later told Entertainment Tonight that the accident could have been fatal, saying, ‘It was funny. It sucks. I almost died, but we’re good.’
In another accident, Efron tore his ACL ligament while skiing in Utah. On The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2019, he admitted he had ‘never skied on fresh powder’ before and described gaining confidence while skiing until he realized he was in trouble. He recalled feeling a pop and the subsequent injury, explaining that the adrenaline and snow in his face initially distracted him from the severity of the situation.
