Amid the high anticipation around Taylor Swift's 'The Tortured Poets Department', reports of the album leaking online have infuriated Swifties. A mystery lyric video of the potential leak has surfaced online, with 'TTPD leak' trending on X. However, it remains unclear if these excerpts are genuine or if they are just another hoax.
Ever since Taylor teased her upcoming album, 'TTPD', at the Grammys 2024, fans, along with the singer, have been counting the days until its official launch. However, with the alleged 'TTPD leak', fans could not hold back their disappointment. Soon after the lyrical video surfaced online, the microblogging site X took action by implementing a ban on the search of certain keywords and leaks related to the album. Several reports have suggested that the leaked songs may have originated from a Google Drive containing the entire 'The Tortured Poets Department' record.
This isn't the first time Taylor Swift has faced pre-release leaks. During the release of '1989' in 2014, a few excerpts from her album leaked three days before its official drop date. Leaks also plagued the release of her third album, 'Fearless', with the single 'Mine' circulating online ahead of schedule. Nevertheless, both of her albums managed to break sales records.
'The Tortured Poets Department' releases on April 19. Pre-orders and pre-saves are available now on Swift's website.
