Actor Karan Soni, who is known for his work in ‘Deadpool’ movies, will now become a part of the Spider-Verse. According to Deadline, he has been cast to voice Spider-Man India in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’.
Karan will reportedly voice Pavitr Prabhakar, an alternate universe version of Spider-Man known as Spider-Man India in the film.
The 'Deadpool' actor confirmed the news by sharing a screenshot of a news article on Instagram and captioned the post 'Still can’t believe I get to be Spidey!!'
This character first appeared in the comics in 2004. Pavitr acquired his powers from an ancient yogi and started fighting crime.
‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ is a sequel to 2018’s Oscar award-winning movie ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ and is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K Thompson.
It stars Shameik Moore, Hailee Steinfeld, Jake Johnson, Issa Rae, Daniel Kaluuya, Jason Schwartzman, Oscar Isaac among others. The film is scheduled for a release on June 2.
