Margot Robbie is being considered for a role in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 6’, which is still in the development stages. The last instalment of the mega-popular franchise was released five years ago, which starred Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow as well as Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, and Penélope Cruz and others.
Depp has been out of the franchise since his ex-wife Amber Heard accused him of physical abuse. The actor, on the other hand, stated that the charges were false. Johnny Depp and Heard are currently in court after the actor filed a defamation lawsuit against the 'Aquaman' actor.
Fans have protested bringing back Depp for 'Pirates of the Caribbean 6' with two ongoing petitions. Meanwhile, a new report has surfaced regarding the movie. According to The Sunday Times, producer Jerry Bruckheimer stated that ‘Pirates 6’ is underway.
However, the producer said that two screenplays for 'Pirates of the Caribbean 6' are in the process- one which featured Margot Robbie and the other does not. When asked if Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) would return, Bruckheimer said no, at least not at this point. He added that the future was yet to be decided.
Even if the one script has been written with Johnny Depp's role in mind, the actor stated in court during the trial that he will not return to the franchise even if he is offered $300 million.
