Oscars 2022: Troy Kotsur becomes 2nd deaf actor to win an Academy Award

Celebrities joined in at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles to celebrate and honour the brightest stars of the year gone by.

Oscars 2022, Hollywood's biggest night came alive, quite literally, thanks to Beyoncé's breathtaking performance of the Oscar-nominated track for Best Original Song, 'Be Alive' from King Richard.

Dune won the Oscar for The Best Film Editing, Best Original Score, Best Production Design, Best Sound, Best Visual Effects. The winners of these categories were announced before the live ceremony began in Los Angeles. 

Oscars 2022 for Best Supporting Actor goes to Troy Kotsur  for 'CODA'. Troy Kotsur won Best Supporting Actor for his performance as the child of deaf parents in 'CODA'. He is the second deaf actor to win an Oscar. 

Ariana DeBose won her first Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for 'West Side Story' as the fabulous Anita. Ariana, is the first openly queer woman and first Afro-Latina to win an acting Oscar.

'Encanto' won Best Animated Feature Film at Oscars 2022. On winning the award, Yvett Merino said, that he is proud to be a part of the film that puts beautiful diverse characters front and centre.
