Hollywood stars Meryl Streep and Martin Short were romantically linked after they appeared more than just friendly at the Golden Globes 2024. Soon after, rumours of the two dating began making the rounds. However, Short has now set the records straight, denying romantic links with Streep. Meryl and Martin co-star in Hulu's drama series, 'Only Murders in the Building'.
Meryl Streep is not dating Martin Short. Recently, Short appeared on the Club Random with Bill Maher podcast, where he denied a romantic relationship with Streep. He said, “We’re not a couple. We are just very close friends." After Martin denied the rumours, Maher went on to suggest that they should date "because there's nothing more powerful in Hollywood than a power couple." The host also went to give examples of former Hollywood couples, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
Meryl Streep and her husband Don Gummer's separation was revealed in October. While it was only after People Magazine's report that the rumours first surfaced, it was later revealed that the two have been separated for more than 6 years.
Meryl Streep and Don Gummer, who share four children together, tied the knot in 1978.
