Kevin Spacey, the Oscar-winning actor, has been charged with more sexual offenses, all relating to the same alleged victim. Britain’s Crown Prosecution Service on November 16 authorised seven additional charges against the actor for multiple sexual assaults against one man between 2001 and 2004.
The new charges include causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent and others of indecent and sexual assault. These charges were approved by the prosecuting authority following ‘a review of the evidence gathered by the Metropolitan Police in its investigation,’ the head of the CPS Special Crime Division, Rosemary Ainslie said.
Spacey has denied charges of sexually assaulting three men a decade or more ago in a court appearance in July this year.
The trial in the case will start on June 6, 2023. Judge Mark Wall said it would last three to four weeks.
Spacey has won two Academy Awards for his roles in ‘The Usual Suspects’ and ‘American Beauty’. He was the artistic director of London’s Old Vic theater from 2003 to 2015.
