Oscar-winning actor Kate Winslet was taken to the hospital after she suffered an accident on the set of her film ‘Lee’ in Croatia. Following this, the shoot of the historical drama has briefly been halted. According to entertainment website Deadline, a representative for the actor informed that she was ‘doing well’ and is likely to resume shooting sometime this week.
The representative’s statement read, ‘Kate slipped and was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure required by the production. She is fine and will be filming, as planned, this week.’
‘Lee’ is a biopic based on Vogue cover model-turned-photographer Lee Miller. She is considered to be one of the first people who highlighted the brutality in the Nazi concentration camps through her photographs.
The film is being directed by Ellen Kuras, who was the cinematographer on Kate's 2004 film ‘Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’.
‘Lee’ also stars Marion Cotillard, Jude Law, Andrea Riseborough and Josh O'Conner. The shoot of the film will likely be completed in December, and it may hit the theatres in 2023.
Besides ‘Lee’, Kate will be next feature in James Cameron's ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’.
