'Deadpool & Wolverine' actor Hugh Jackman is an ardent cricket lover. In a recent interview with Marvel India, the Hollywood heartthrob revealed that the Indian Cricket Team's captain Rohit Sharma is his favourite cricketer. He also congratulated India on the recent T20 World Cup win and hailed Rohit's 'beast' performance.
When Hugh was asked to name his favourite cricketer from Team India, at the drop of a hat, the actor said, “Right now? Rohit [Sharma]. You took the [World] Cup home! I'm glad. But honestly, he was a beast!” Ryan Reynolds, Jackman's co-star in the upcoming film, nodded in agreement and said, “This is amazing!”
Rohit Sharma and the team's unbeaten performance in the recently concluded T20 World Cup was nothing short of phenomenal. ICT lifted the trophy in a thrilling finale against South Africa in Barbados last week. The team returned home on Thursday, July 4, and held a victory parade in Mumbai. Rohit also took to his Instagram account to share a picture of himself lying down at the Kensington Oval to mark the moment of victory. “This picture epitomises how I’m feeling right now. So many words but can’t find the right ones to express what yesterday meant to me but I will, and I will share them, but right now I’m basking in a dream come true for a billion of us,” Rohit wrote.
Directed by Shawn Levy, 'Deadpool & Wolverine' starts six years after the events of Deadpool 2 (2018). The film also stars Emma Corrin, Matthew MacFayden, Karan Soni, Aaron Stanford, and Jennifer Garner. Produced by Kevin Feige under Marvel Studios, 'Deadpool & Wolverine' is slated to release in cinemas on July 26.
