Emma Stone, one of the most popular actors in Hollywood, celebrates her birthday today. She started her career with a comic role in 2007 film ‘Superbad’. Since then, she has proven her versatility having starred in musical dramas and period films, which garnered commercial and critical acclaim.  

On Emma Stone’s birthday, here is a recap of some of her best onscreen work  

La La Land (2016) 

Emma Stone co-starred with Ryan Gosling in this musical-comedy drama and won an Oscar for her dazzling performance as Mia. 

Sebastian, a pianist, and Mia, an actor, fall in love with each other while pursuing their dreams. They are unable to maintain their relationship as they follow their passion and achieve success in their respective fields.  

Birdman (2014) 

This black comedy drama starred Zach Galifianakis, Edward Norton, Andrea Riseborough, Amy Ryan, Emma Stone, and Naomi Watts. 

The film narrates the story of a fading cinema star, Riggan Thomson, who plans to revive his career with a Broadway production. However, his co-star is injured during rehearsals due to which he has to hire a new actor. 

Emma earned her very first Oscar nomination for her performance in this film. She played Riggan’s daughter, Sam, who is fed up with her father. 

The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) 

Based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, this film was directed by Marc Webb. It stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man alongside Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott among others.  

After being bitten by a genetically altered spider discovers newfound, spider-like powers and he sets out to save the city from the Lizard. 

Crazy, Stupid Love (2011) 

Emma Stone co-starred with Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Marisa Tomei, and Kevin Bacon in this romantic comedy. This film is about a recently separated man who tries to rediscover his manhood and is taught how to pick up women at bars. 

Zombieland (2009) 

The zombie comedy film, directed by Ruben Fleischer, narrates the story of a college student who joins forces with three strangers to survive a zombie apocalypse. They take a road trip across the Southwestern US in an attempt to find a safe haven.
