French actor Gaspard Ulliel who was cast as the character of Anton Mogart in the upcoming Marvel mini-series Moon Knight died at the age of 37. The cause of death was ruled as a  head injury following a ski accident.

Gaspard rose to global fame after he took the lead in “Hannibal Rising,” the 2007 prequel to the 1991 hit “The Silence of the Lambs,” playing Hannibal Lecter as an oddly sympathetic, if still horribly murderous, character. The film received mixed reviews.

In 2017, he won the Cesar Award for Best Actor for his role in Xavier Dolan's It's Only the End of the World.

Gaspard Ulliel’s family confirmed his death in a statement. He is survived by his partner Gaelle Pietri and his 6-year-old son.

Gaspard Ulliel starrer series “Moon Knight” will premiere on Disney+ on March 30.
