A French museum announced its urgent efforts to rectify a poorly received waxwork of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson after the actor expressed dissatisfaction with inaccurate portrayal of his skin tone.

Johnson, of Samoan and Black heritage, humorously criticized the Grevin Museum's wax figure on Instagram, which strangely depicted him with white skin and lacked a resemblance to his features.

Addressing the issue publicly, Johnson stated his intention to collaborate with the Grevin Museum in Paris, France, to enhance the wax figure, particularly focusing on his skin color.

The museum promptly responded, confirming they were reworking the statue and would unveil an updated version the following day.

Yves Delhommeau, the museum's director, emphasized the staff's commitment to meeting fans' expectations, working tirelessly through the night.

Delhommeau also acknowledged a lighting problem that unintentionally lightened Johnson's skin, which they planned to address.

Johnson expressed his willingness to visit the museum later to assess potential further modifications.

The Grevin Museum, renowned for its 800,000 annual visitors, faced backlash from Johnson's fans, who criticized the statue's inaccurate portrayal.

Comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr. even created a video mocking the figure, prompting Johnson's response.

The incident drew parallels to a previous controversy in 2018 when the museum faced ridicule for an unflattering sculpture of French President Emmanuel Macron.

Creating a Grevin sculpture involves a six-month process and costs between 50,000 to 60,000 euros ($60-70,000).
