Marvel and Disney’s Deadpool & Wolverine is set to break box office records this weekend, and the raunchy, expletive-filled R-rated superhero mashup has received a ringing endorsement from none other than Taylor Swift!
“Over the past few years I have watched one of my best friends on this planet pour every bit of his heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, jokes, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness, and magic into this film. He’s created the best work of his life, and this film feels like an actual joy portal, a wild escape from reality, and an abs sandwich. I don’t know how he did it. But that’s just Hugh for you!’ Swift wrote on Instagram, trolling her good friend Ryan Reynolds in the process.
‘These other randoms crashed the photo and we were too polite to ask them to leave,’ quipped Swift, who posted a photo of her standing with Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Blake Lively and director Shawn Levy to her Instagram story.
‘‘Deadpool and Wolverine‘ is out TOMORROW! Here’s where to buy tickets if you like things that are unspeakably awesome. Shout out to Wade Wilson, aka my godkids’ sperm donor!,’ she added.
Lively reposted Swift’s post and wrote, ‘Thank you Taylor Swift for honoring my guy(s). I couldn’t have said it better myself. Which is unsurprising given that I have 14 less Grammys and not a single sold-out stadium world tour.’
Meanwhile, Swift continues her epic Eras Tour this weekend in Munich, Germany, before heading to Poland, Austria, and London next month.
As for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, the film is projected to open between $160 and $175 million in North America alone, with an expected international gross ranging from $180 to $190 million, according to the latest tracking intel.
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ features Ryan Reynolds returning as the fun-loving, foul-mouthed antihero Deadpool/Wade Wilson, while Hugh Jackman reprises his role as the brooding Wolverine/Logan. The story centers on Wade Wilson being reluctantly pulled out of retirement to save the world, facing numerous challenges along the way.
