Fans got a big surprise as Marvel screened their latest superhero flick ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ at the ongoing San Diego Comic-Con. Film’s stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman were present along with the film's team and even the stars in cameo as their movie premiered for the 6,500 people.
Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, director Shawn Levy and Marvel Studios’ main man Kevin Feige shook the fans at Comic-Con on July 25. The panel for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ was apparently a secret screening for the film. The highly anticipated film was screened in the Hall H, which is a room fans camp out overnight to enter.
Usually, the early comers are allowed to secure a seat for themselves, but ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ is not a usual or ordinary panel. Hence, the organisers had to bring in a lottery system for the tickets to Hall H. The lucky winners did not just win the chance to watch the surprise screening but also were given a popcorn bucket many even got theirs signed by Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld.
After the screening, Feige and ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ team took to the stage and shared the excitement with the fans. Feige called it ‘the best movie experience of my life’ while Ryan Reynolds said, ‘it changed his DNA’.
‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ holds special significance for the Comic-Con. While Ryan reminisced the time when he came with the trailer of ‘Deadpool’ in 2015, Jackman was also there and had expressed his intention to retire the Wolverine’s character after 2017’s ‘Logan’. However, Marvel’s latest superhero flick has brought the Wolverine out of his retirement, courtesy 20th Century Fox acquisition.
