Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took to Twitter to reach out to singer Taylor Swift and urged her to add Canadian dates to her much-awaited Eras Tour.
His plea has grabbed fans attention and sparked speculation about the possibility of upcoming Canadian shows.
Taylor Swift on July 5 released an updated schedule of her European leg of the Eras Tour.
Commenting under the schedule of her European tour, Trudeau wrote, 'It’s me, hi. I know places in Canada would love to have you. So, don’t make it another cruel summer. We hope to see you soon.'
The tweet made references to Swift’s songs like 'Anti-Hero', 'I Know Places', and 'Cruel Summer'.
Trudeau's comment coincided with Taylor Swift's announcement that her longtime friend, Hayley Williams of Paramore, would be joining her for the entire 2024 European leg of the Eras Tour.
Swift expressed her excitement about the expanded tour, exclaiming, 'I get to travel the world doing shows with @paramore!! Hayley and I have been friends since we were teens in Nashville, and now we get to frolic around the UK/Europe next summer??? I'm screaming???'
The last time Swift graced Canadian stages was during her 2018 stadium tour for the acclaimed album 'Reputation.'
