Anne Hathaway was overflowing with emotions at the premiere of her film 'The Idea of You,' co-starring Nicholas Galitzine, at South by Southwest 2024. As Hathaway took the stage for a post-screening interaction, she was moved to tears while addressing the cheering audience.
Anne Hathaway led the stars at the SXSW premiere of her upcoming rom-com 'The Idea of You'. During the Q&A segment on the stage post-screening, the actor told the audience, “I can’t talk,” in tears. “I love you!” a fan called out, and Hathaway responded, “I love you so much. You have no idea the gift that you’ve just given us with your responsiveness, by being so connected to every little nuance in this. I will never forget this screening.”
“For some reason, we talk about coming-of-age stories as being something that happens to you in the earliest part of your life, and I don’t know about you, but I feel like I keep blooming,” she continued. “So when Cathy [Schulman] and Gabrielle [Union] so generously offered me the part, I was thrilled to say yes.”
In this adaptation of Robinne Lee's novel, Anne Hathaway plays a recently divorced mother who falls in love with an international pop star. Speaking about his chemistry with Hathway, Galitzine earlier said it was instantly “spiritual” during his audition process, per Variety.
“These rooms can be extremely intimidating and unnatural, but there was something almost spiritual that happened there, whereby I felt this immediate connection to Annie,” he said.
'The Idea of You' is slated to release on Prime Video on May 2, 2024.
