Adele, the chart-topping sensation renowned for her soul-stirring vocals and emotionally charged lyrics, is set to take a step back from the spotlight.

The singer wrapped up her Munich residency on August 31 with a 10th performance in the German city, where she confirmed her intention to take an extended break from music after finishing her Weekends With Adele shows in Las Vegas this fall.

‘I just need a rest. I've spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and now I want to live it,’ an emotional Adele shared with the audience.

‘I want to enjoy the life I've been creating, and I will miss you all terribly,’ she added.

The singer mentioned that she initially intended for the Munich residency to be the final shows of her 30 era, but those plans changed when she rescheduled her postponed Las Vegas dates for the fall.

‘After that, you won't see me for a very long time. But I will keep you close to my heart throughout my break,’ she said.

Fans were disappointed by Adele's announcement.

‘We'll wait for your music!’ one fan commented. Another added, ‘She just wants to live a normal life with her husband.’ A fan observed, ‘She always disappears for a few years and then comes back with a bang—a new album.’ Another comment read, ‘Rihanna is still on hiatus, and now Adele is too? We're losing out big time!’

This news comes shortly after her engagement to Rich Paul, which was first revealed last month. Adele playfully confirmed her engagement during a Munich concert, saying, ‘Will you marry me? I can't, because I'm already getting married.’

She also flaunted her engagement ring to the audience.

In a radio interview in July, Adele first announced her decision to step away from music to focus on her family and other creative pursuits.
Adele's Las Vegas residency began at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in November 2022 and will total 100 shows by the time it ends this November. ‘I have no plans for new music at all. I want a long break after this, and I think I'll explore other creative avenues for a while,’ Adele said,

Earlier this year, Adele acknowledged the challenges her fans face when their only opportunity to see her live is by traveling to Vegas or Munich. ‘I don't think I'll be writing a new album anytime soon, but when I do, I'll come to wherever you are,’ she told one audience in January.

Adele has received numerous accolades, including 16 Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, a Golden Globe Award, 18 Billboard Music Awards, and 12 Brit Awards.
