Grammys glory for India! Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain clinch Best Global Music Album award

India scored big at the Grammys this year, with ‘Shakti’, featuring Shankar Mahadevan and Zakir Hussain, clinching the Best Global Music Album award for 'This Moment.' Alongside Mahadevan and Hussain, the group includes guitarist John McLaughlin, percussionist V Selvaganesh, and violinist Ganesh Rajagopalan.


Ricky Kej, a fellow Indian music composer and Grammy winner, celebrated their success by sharing a video of their acceptance speech.

Kej expressed his excitement on his official X account, saying ‘India is shining in every direction’. Additionally, Ustad Zakhir Hussain secured a second Grammy alongside virtuoso flute player Rakesh Chaurasia.

In his acceptance speech, Shankar Mahadevan expressed gratitude to his wife for her unwavering support.
