‘Gadar 2’ released on August 11 and Sunny Deol’s film is attracting the audience to the theatres in large numbers. The film made a collection of Rs 40 crore on its opening day according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
The film saw an overall occupancy of over 60% on day one, and for the night shows it went on to 86%.
A Bollywood Hungama report says the film can make a total of Rs 120 crore during the weekend and Rs 175 crore over the extended Independence Day holiday weekend.
‘Gadar 2’ released 23 years after the first part ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’. Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 also stars Utkarsh Sharma and Ameesha Patel. ‘Gadar’ released in 2001 and became a hit at the box office. It made a whopping collection of Rs 130 crore worldwide.
