British singer Freddie Mercury’s Yamaha baby grand piano is up for auction in September 2023. Some of Queen’s most famous songs like 'The Bohemian Rhapsody' were composed on it.

Singer’s other belongings including artworks, clothing, furniture, photographs, handwritten lyrics are also on display with the lack lacquered piano at Sotheby’s auction house in central London. The list makes some 30,000 articles according to Hindustan Times report.

It is a free exhibition that showcases Mercury’s private and public worlds.

The Bohemian Rhapsody singer had died in 1991 at the age of 45 and he had left his Kensington home, Garden Lodge and all his belongings to his closest friend Mary Austin who has now decided to sell everything.

The auction is expected to raise between £7.6m and £11m, with estimates ranging from about £20 for a china ornament to up to £3m for the baby grand.

“Freddie was a great entertainer, not just on stage, but at his fabulous dinner parties and gatherings,” said Williams.
