New Delhi, Aug 4 (PTI) The film "Dhadak 2", starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri, has made a remarkable entry at the box office, amassing over Rs 14 crore within just three days post-release, the filmmakers announced on Monday.

Revolving around the narrative of star-crossed lovers, Neelesh and Vidhi, played by Chaturvedi and Dimri, the film highlights issues of caste differences. Directed by Shazia Iqbal, known for her work in "Bebaak", "Dhadak 2" hit theatres on August 1.

The project is produced by industry giants, including Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, Zee Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures.

The filmmakers shared the promising box office stats on their X handle, featuring the film's poster with the collection details and daily breakdown.

On its opening day, "Dhadak 2" garnered Rs 4.31 crore from the domestic market. It continued to draw audiences, accumulating Rs 4.78 crore and Rs 5.04 crore on the subsequent days, reaching a total gross of Rs 14.13 crore domestically.

The enticing caption on their social media post read: "Love is in the air, and everyone’s feeling it in their dhadak! Book your tickets. - https//linktr.ee/Dhadak2BookTicketsNow. #DHADAK2 IN CINEMAS NOW."

"Dhadak 2" serves as the sequel to 2018’s "Dhadak", which was the launchpad for actors Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, directed by Shashank Khaitan.

Initially set for a November 2024 release, the movie faced multiple delays due to issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). These hurdles were recently overcome after the makers implemented significant cuts and modifications.
