Star couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have announced they are expecting their first child. The couple dropped a simple post on social media featuring baby-related icons and the due date, September 2024.
Congratulatory messages are pouring in for the couple.
Sonakshi Sinha commented on their post and wrote, 'Your best production yet!!!! So so happy for you both… congratulations.'
Vikrant Massey wrote, 'OMGGGGGGG!!!! Bahut bahut shubhkamnaen aap dono ko!!!'
Kriti Sanon, Mira Rajput are among other celebrities who have congratulated the couple.
The announcement ends weeks of speculation about Deepika's pregnancy, fueled in part by her appearance at the recent BAFTA awards. Deepika, who was a presenter at the award show, wore a saree and appeared to be making an effort to keep her stomach covered.
Deepika previously expressed her and Ranveer's desire for children, stating, 'We love children and are looking forward to the day when we will start our own family.'
In an interview, she emphasized the importance of family and staying grounded amidst fame and success. Deepika highlighted that despite her celebrity status, she values her roles as a daughter and sister above all else. She aspires to maintain this grounded perspective and hopes to instill similar values in their future children with Ranveer.
Deepika and Ranveer were in a relationship for six years before exchanging vows on November 14, 2018, at Lake Como in Italy. Their love story began on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela', where they found love. They have collaborated on several projects including 'Finding Fanny', 'Padmaavat', and 'Bajirao Mastani'. Last year, they celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Belgium.
