Telugu actors Rajasekhar and his wife Jeevitha have been sentenced to one-year in jail after a Hyderabad court found them guilty of defamation in a case filed by producer Allu Aravind.

The case against the couple was filed in 2011 after they alleged that there were irregularities in the way a blood bank founded by Telugu megastar and Allu Aravind’s brother-in-law Chiranjeevi was run. Rajasekhar and Jeevitha alleged that Chiranjeevi Blood Bank was also involved in selling blood in the black market.

Along with imprisonment, the court has also imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on them. According to reports, the couple has given bail and can approach higher courts.

The feud between Chiranjeevi and Rajashekar has been long-running. The two also got into an argument in 2020 during an event organised by the Movie Artists Association.
