Actor Zayed Khan, known for his role in 'Main Hoon Na', shared a deeply personal account of his elder son Zidaan's battle with a serious respiratory issue that plagued him throughout his childhood and teenage years. During an emotional discussion with his co-star Amrita Rao on her YouTube channel, Couple of Things, Zayed recounted a harrowing episode that took place in London.
Zayed mentioned, 'At just three years old, Zidaan experienced a severe respiratory attack that left him gasping for air. Zayed described the moment, recalling his son pleading for help: 'Papa, help me, I can’t breathe." In a panic, Zayed's wife called an ambulance, which arrived within 15 minutes'.
He recounted the tense moment when a nurse, sought permission to administer an adrenaline injection. The gravity of the situation intensified as four doctors were summoned to the scene, preparing for a potential emergency surgery if the steroids didn’t take effect. “There is nothing worse than the thought of losing a child', he said.
Despite doctors warning that Zidaan might always have respiratory issues, Zayed encouraged him to engage in outdoor activities. Today, Zidaan is thriving and has achieved impressive fitness levels, proving everybody wrong. Zayed admitted that witnessing his son's suffering took a toll on him. 'I prayed to God, Take me but don’t do this to him. It felt so unfair for a kid to go through this,' he shared.
Zayed Khan and his wife, Malaika, married in 2005 and have two sons, Zidaan, born in 2008, and Ariz, born in 2011.
