‘The Great Indian Family', starring Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chillar, had a slow start on day one. It released in theatres on September 22 and did a business of Rs 1.4 crores as per early estimates according to sacnilk.com.
According to the report, the film saw an occupancy of 10 per cent in the theatres on Friday.
Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, the film is produced by Yash Raj Films. It also stars Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Sadiya Siddiqui, and Alka Amin.
Vicky Kaushal sings bhajans in the film in hopes of making a girlfriend as women touch his feet. But his life takes a turn as he finds out he might be a Muslim.
Vicky Kaushal was last seen in ‘Zara Hatke Zara Bachke’ that also starred Sara Ali Khan. The film performed well at the box office Rs 104 crore gross.
