Sonam Kapoor’s family reportedly planned to host a star-studded baby shower for her on Sunday, July 17. However, as per reports in the Bombay Times, the event was called off due to the rising numbers of COVID-19 cases in Mumbai. This news was also confirmed by filmmaker Farah Khan during her interactions with paparazzi in the city. She mentioned, 'Sonam's baby shower has been canceled and we are going for lunch instead.’
The star-studded function was supposed to be held at Sonam’s aunt Kavita Kapoor’s house in Bandra but after it was cancelled, the actor arranged a small get-together at her residence. Filmmaker Farah Khan was among those invited.
Sonam and Anand Ahuja announced their pregnancy in March. A baby shower was hosted for the 'Neerja' actor in London in June, a glimpse of which she has shared on her social media account.
