Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal tied the knot on June 23 in a close-knit ceremony in Mumbai. Despite the rumours suggesting a rift between Sona and her parents due to her interreligious marriage, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha were seen standing by her side throughout the wedding festivities. On Sunday, Sonakshi penned an emotional note, revealing she's missing her home, and also dropped a few pictures with her parents from her intimate wedding ceremony.
Sonakshi took to her Instagram account to share a series of monochrome pictures from her wedding ceremony. In the first photo, she was seen hugging her mother, Poonam Sinha, who was visibly emotional following her nuptials. In another picture, the 'Dabangg' actor held her father Shatrughan Sinha’s hand as she leaned on his shoulder. The third picture was a candid one, which captured a teary-eyed Sona sharing a warm embrace with her mother. The last click saw Sonakshi hugging her emotional parents.
In the caption, the actor wrote, “At the wedding Maa started crying when it hit her i would be moving out of the house, i told her ‘Maa, don't worry… juhu to bandra only 25 mins.’”
She further expressed, “Missing them a lil extra today, so I’m telling myself the exact same thing. Hope theres Sunday sindhi curry made at home…See you soon… zoom zoom zoom.”
Shatrughan Sinha recently opened up about his son, Luv Sinha, missing Sonakshi's wedding. In a recent interview, the actor addressed the alleged family rift, condemning the 'smear campaign' against Luv for his absence at the event. While speaking to Times Now, the actor said, "We have seen bigger problems. This is nothing. There is nothing to worry about. We were like any ordinary family with a wedding happening. Why we became a target of so much attention? We didn't ask for it."
He continued, "This is not the first time that such a marriage was happening. Our family was subjected to the most vicious smear campaign. Let me make this clear, I won't tolerate my family being attacked." Speaking about Sonakshi's wedding, the actor shared that he is certain that Zaheer will stand by her through thick and thin.
