Content creator Sidra Hafeez recently faced backlash from fans of Aishwarya Rai after posting a video where she imitated the actress. In the video, which she shared on Instagram, Sidra attempted to recreate Aishwarya's looks for public events and even made a child pretend to be Aishwarya’s daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan.
The video starts with Sidra styling her hair, accompanied by on-screen text saying, “POV: Aishwarya Rai getting ready for an event,” followed by laughing and skull emojis. She then applies lipstick while the text suggests choosing between “red or dark pink lipstick.” Next, Sidra dresses up in a suit and dupatta, with text labeling her outfit as “funny.” As she turns to leave, the words on the video say, “Forgot something important.” In her caption, Sidra humorously notes, “Blue eyes and Abhishek is missing.”
However, the response from viewers was negative. One fan expressed outrage, stating, “The audacity to make fun of Aishwarya Rai. These people are not content creators; they should stick to TikTok.” Another comment urged her to stop, saying, “She is our pride! As a mother, you should not insult other mothers.” Other users defended Aishwarya, highlighting her role as a caring parent and stating that society often trolls people regardless of how they manage their families.
An Instagram user criticized Sidra for making fun of a respected figure, saying, “You forgot the main thing: elegance and grace.” Another commenter added that while it may take a moment to mock someone, building a successful career like Aishwarya's takes years.
In response to the criticism, Sidra clarified her intentions, stating that the video was meant to be humorous. She pinned a comment saying, “For those who got the humour in this video… I have so much respect for you.”
Aishwarya’s daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, often accompanies her mother to various events, both in India and abroad. Recently, during the IIFA event, Aishwarya was asked why Aaradhya is always by her side. She simply replied, “She's my daughter. She goes with me everywhere.”
