Actor Shah Rukh Khan, who is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ahmedabad after suffering from a heat stroke, is expected to be discharged on May 23, according to a police official.
‘Khan is still undergoing treatment at the hospital. It is possible that he may get discharged today,’ Ahmedabad (Rural) Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat said.
The private hospital where SRK is being treated has not yet issued any statement on his health condition.
Shah Rukh Khan was in Ahmedabad to attend an IPL match of his Kolkata Knight Riders team at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Several parts of Gujarat have been reeling under severe heatwave for the last couple of days.
As per a report by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Ahmedabad city was under ‘heatwave’ on May 21 and May 22 when it recorded a maximum temperature of 45.2 and 45.9 degrees Celsius, respectively.
A video is being widely circulated online, showing SRK meeting a wheelchair-bound fan at the stadium after the match. He spent some time chatting with him and posed for photos.
Fans are impressed by this gesture, especially since SRK reportedly wasn't feeling well then. One fan commented, ‘Kindest man ever!’ Others wished him a speedy recovery.
SRK is now fine and is recovering well. His close friend and actor Juhi Chawla told News18 Showsha, ‘Shah Rukh was not feeling too well last night but he is being attended to and was feeling much better this evening. God willing, he will soon be up, and in the stands on the weekend, cheering the team, as we play the finals.’
Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘Dunki’. He will next be seen in ‘King’ that will be directed by Sujoy Ghosh and is also likely to star SRK’s daughter Suhana Khan.
