Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta turned cheerleaders for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), respectively, as their teams played the season opener at the Indian Premier League 2024. While KKR faced Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday, Preity's franchise PBKS battled with Delhi Capitals in their inaugural match in Mohali. While both stars were present at different venues, they were seen in similar spirits in the now viral pictures and videos, and their fans can't help but wish for a 'Veer-Zara' crossover.

Preity Zinta-SRK ignite a fan frenzy

Nothing entices fans more than a cricket-to-Bollywood crossover, and when actors Preity Zinta and Shah Rukh Khan showed up on Saturday to support their teams, netizens went all bonkers. Many took to social media to rave over their enduring appeal, with several X users hoping they reunited again on screen. Making a splash at a high-voltage clash in Kolkata, Shah Rukh Khan was spotted in a white T-shirt and sunglasses, while Preity looked stunning in a white kurta and a red Phulkari dupatta as she attended the match in Punjab.

 SRK and Preity's films together

Shah Rukh and Preity have featured together in a handful of projects. In fact, Preity marked her Bollywood debut opposite Shah Rukh with Mani Ratnam's romantic drama 'Dil Se'. They then collaborated on Nikkhil Advani's 2003 romantic comedy Kal Ho Naa Ho' and Karan Johar's 2006 romantic drama 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna'. However, the most talked-about film remains 'Veer-Zaara,' a cross-border love saga that has enjoyed cult classic status to date.
