Actor Adil Hussain’s criticism of ‘Kabir Singh’ has not gone down well with the director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. After Hussain expressed regret on doing the film, Vanga has taken to social media to hit out at the actor.
Known for ‘Animal’ and ‘Kabir Singh’, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga slammed actor Adil Hussain for criticising his film. He took to his social media handle and wrote, “Ur 'belief' in 30 art films didn't get as much fame to u as ur 'regret' of 1 BLOCKBUSTER film did. I regret casting u,knwing that ur greed is bigger than ur passion. NOW I'll save U from the shame by replacing Ur face with AI help. Now smile properly.”
In a recent interview, Adil Hussain said that he was unaware of ‘Kabir Singh’ script when he signed the film. “So I go to watch the film and I thought what am I doing here? You have no idea how I felt. I felt so embarrassed,” he said during AP Podcast interview. The actor also called the film ‘mysoginist’ and said that he walked out of the theatre within 20 minutes. “I regret it till today. The only movie I have regretted doing is that film, Kabir Singh,” he said.
This is not a first for Vanga. While he has been criticised for his films’ ‘misoginistic’ content, he has always vehemently defended his films and attacked the critics.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film stars Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. The film had faced massive backlash for its misogyny and promoting toxic masculinity.
