Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga is eagerly anticipating the release of his third directorial venture, ‘Animal,’ featuring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. The film's trailer which shows the complexities of a father-son relationship has captivated audiences, sparking anticipation. Ranbir's portrayal of a devoted son willing to go to great lengths to protect his father has earned widespread acclaim.
During the pre-release event for the film in Hyderabad, Vanga expressed his admiration for Ranbir Kapoor’s performance, highlighting that he's encountered no one quite like him. He even stated that he sometimes feels compelled to show reverence by touching Ranbir's feet.
‘Ranbir might be younger to me but when I see him performing, I feel like touching his feet and taking his blessings. I haven’t seen anyone with so much patience,’ Vanga shared.
‘Animal’ boasts a runtime exceeding three hours, yet Sandeep Reddy Vanga remains confident that Ranbir Kapoor's performance will captivate and engross the audience throughout. In an earlier interview with The Hindu, Vanga revealed, ‘The first cut of 'Animal' was 3 hours 45 or 46 minutes. I edited it down to 3:21. I've watched the film numerous times, and it remains engaging. Ranbir's compelling performance ensures the audience remains enthralled every second.’
Scheduled for a December 1 theatrical release, the film features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Rashmika Mandanna in significant roles. It faces box office competition from Vicky Kaushal-starrer ‘Sam Bahadur.’
Despite the clash, ‘Animal’ is showing promising advance booking trends, outpacing Meghna Gulzar's ‘Sam Bahadur.’ The latter delves into the life of Sam Manekshaw, tracing his journey as the first Indian Army officer promoted to the rank of Field Marshal.
