Ranveer Singh is an extremely versatile performer is something that everyone knows. Be it his portrayal of a conman wooing ladies, a wedding planner, the raw and rustic street rapper, or his top-cop act, Ranveer has always got into the ‘skin of the character’. ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ is no different. If the trailer is anything to go by, then, Ranveer definitely is sitting on a goldmine with this film!

The film’s three-minute trailer mirrors Jayeshbhai’s (Ranveer’s character) emotions when he encounters society’s patriarchal approach toward his unborn child. The trailer shows Jayeshbhai and his wife Mudra (Shalini Pandey) expecting their second child whilst his parents (Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah) are very keen to have a son to carry forward the legacy of being a village sarpanch. Will the ever-supportive Jayeshbhai bow down before the societal norms or will he take a stand for his wife, his young daughter, and his unborn child, are some of the hard-hitting questions which will be answered only when the film is released.

Directed by the debutante film-maker Divyang Thakkar, ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ also marks the Bollywood debut of the southern sensation Shalini Pandey. She plays the film’s leading lady. Ranveer Singh’s stunning portrayal of the titular role has definitely got everyone talking.

The movie is slated to hit the screens on May 13 this year.
