Actor-filmmaker Kangana Ranaut is back on Twitter and she’s already making headlines for her tweets targeting Bollywood. On Friday, she shared a series of tweets questioning the name of Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Pathaan'. According to her 'Indian Pathan' is an 'apt' title for the Siddharth Anand directorial.
Addressing those 'claiming Pathaan is a triumph of love over hate', she said the film was 'running successfully' in theatres only because of 'India’s love and inclusiveness' towards 'a film called Pathaan'.
‘All those who are claiming Pathan is triumph of love over hate,I agree but whose love over whose hate? Let’s be precise, whose is buying tickets and making it a success?Yes it is India’s love and inclusiveness where eighty percent Hindus lives and yet a film called Pathan (cont),’ she tweeted
She continued, ‘I do believe Indian Muslims are patriotic and very different from Afghan Pathans … the crux is India will never be Afghanistan, we all know what is happening in Afghanistan,it’s beyond hell there, so apt name for the movie Pathan according to its storyline is the Indian Pathan’
Earlier, Kangana had praised SRK's latest release and said, 'Pathaan is doing very well. I feel films like this should definitely work. Hindi cinema has been lagging behind other film industries, and we are all trying to finally bring back the business in our own little way'.
On the work front, Kangana Ranaut recently wrapped up the shooting of her forthcoming political drama 'Emergency'. She also has 'Tejas' in the pipeline which is scheduled to release in theatres on May 2023.
