‘Pathaan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, is all set to release on January 25th next year. On King Khan’s birthday, the teaser of the Siddharth Anand directorial was unveiled and it left the audience thrilled. Now, the director has revealed that John was the first and only choice for the makers as the antagonist and the script was written keeping him in mind.

In a recent interview, Siddharth said that for ‘Pathaan’ to be larger than life, they need to have a villain who is equally larger than life. Someone who is ruthless, suave, and commands an electric presence on screen. So, the villain was written keeping John in mind.
'John is the perfect opposite of Pathaan on screen and we have made their rivalry look deliciously edge of the seat. It will be one hell of a thrilling showdown', Times of India quoted him as saying.

Siddharth further said that the intense rivalry between John and SRK on-screen will be a delight to watch for the audience. He said he was elated by the response received by the film as John takes on Shah Rukh Khan in a blood-soaked, adrenaline-pumping rivalry that will be epic in every sense possible.

Earlier, Siddharth had also commented about Shah Rukh Khan’s transformation for ‘Pathaan’ and said that Shah Rukh Khan has pushed his body to breaking point for the action thriller.
'Pathaan' will reportedly have a cameo by Salman Khan as Tiger, reprising his role from the 'Tiger' franchise. The film will release in theatres in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
