Parineeti Chopra is riding on the success of her latest release ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’. The Imtiaz Ali directorial has given a new life to the actor’s career. While her industry peers and audience have showered praises for her performance, the actor in a recent interview shared her family and husband Raghav Chadha’s reaction to her film ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’.
In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Parineeti shared that how Raghav was pumped with the fact that she is playing Chamkila’s wife ‘Amarjot’ in the film. She said, “Raghav met me at the time I was shooting the film and he being a Punjabi, knew so much about Chamkila and Amarjot. And he always used to say, ‘My God, you're doing this film, it's going to be a big hit, it’s going to be big hit’. And I always used to say, ‘Oh, you know, please don't jinx it’.” The actor also shared how her family couldn’t believe that she sang live on set.
‘Amar Singh Chamkila’ delves into the life of the renowned Punjabi artist known for his groundbreaking music and dynamic live shows in the 1980s. Chamkila is widely regarded as the pioneer of Punjabi pop culture, with Amit Trivedi likening him to 'The Elvis of Punjab.' Many in the music industry cite him as a major influence on their work.
After a hiatus from the movie business following her wedding, Parineeti Chopra has returned to the limelight with ‘Chamkila.’ Fans have praised her remarkable portrayal of Amarjot Kaur, with comments like 'Parineeti is back' and 'what a comeback.'
