Actor Sanjay Dutt remembered his mother, late actor Nargis on her 94th birth anniversary on June 1. He shared a picture of his ‘guiding light’ on social media and wrote, ‘I love you and miss you always’.

Sanjay Dutt’s daughter, Trishala, and his wife Maanyata have commented on the post.

The actor’s sister Priya Dutt also shared an emotional note on Instagram and wrote, ‘Happy birthday, to my angel, I can’t see her but that’s OK, my senses feel her presence every step of the way, I know her physical form left me years ago. Her laughter, her warmth her loving care she has left these beautiful memories even though she isnt there, but her essence remains with me everywhere.’

Nargis passed away in 1981 due to pancreatic cancer, just days before the release of Sanjay Dutt’s debut film ‘Rocky’.

Born as Fatima Rashid, Nargis was best known for featuring in films like the Academy Award-nominated ‘Mother India’, ‘Andaaz’, ‘Barsaat’, ‘Shree 420’, and ‘Awaara’. She is regarded as one of the greatest actors of all times. Nargis began her journey as a leading actor in the early 40s.

Her last film appearance was in the psychological drama ‘Raat Aur Din’ in 1967.

Nargis married actor Sunil Dutt. The couple had three children– Sanjay Dutt, Namrata Dutt, and Priya Dutt.

On the work front, Sanjay Dutt was last seen in the blockbuster ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2’. He will be next seen in a special role in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’.
