‘Maidaan’ trailer out: Ajay Devgn on a mission to make world-class football team in sports biopic

Ajay Devgn is coming to big screens with a bang. While one of his films ‘Shaitaan’ will hit the theatres tomorrow, his sports biopic ‘Maidaan’ is ready to goal. The trailer of the much-awaited film based on a true story released today, raising the anticipation among the fans.  

‘Maidaan’ trailer out 

The trailer of sports drama ‘Maidaan’ was launched in an event in Mumbai as well as shared on the social media platforms by the makers and actors of the film. In the trailer, Ajay Devgn in the role of Syed Abdul Rahim sets out on a mission to find an identity for India through football and aims to put together a world class football team in 10 years. A passionate Devgn is seen convincing people in a meeting that it is the beginning of the golden era of football. In the following scenes, Ajay Devgn as coach picks his team and takes up the challenge to win. In between the ups and downs, Devgn also gets his ‘Chak De’ moment in the trailer.  

Sharing the trailer of the film on his Instagram handle, Ajay Devgn wrote, “A team that carved its legacy with every step! A man who devoted his life to football. And one #Maidaan where the whole world witnessed it all...Bringing the Golden Era of Indian Football to life!”  

Earlier on Wednesday, Ajay Devgn had teased the film as he shared a scene from the film, which is also part of the trailer.  

About ‘Maidaan’ 

The biopic sports drama is based on the life of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. Besides Ajay Devgn, the film also stars Priyamani and Gajraj Rao in significant roles. Directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta and Akash Chawla, ‘Maidaan’ will hit the theatres on Eid next month. The film will clash with Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff starrer ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’.
