Actor Kareena Kapoor took to social media on September 1 to announce that her forthcoming film with the acclaimed filmmaker Hansal Mehta, ‘The Buckingham Murders’, will premiere at the 67th BFI London Film Festival on October 14 and 15, 2023.

As she shared the details with her photo on Instagram, she wrote, ‘The Buckingham Murders’ a journey that @hansalmehta, @ektarkapoor and I took is premiering at the 67th BFI London Film Festival.’

She added, ‘It is an atmospheric thriller, that explores themes of loss, closure and the immigrant experience. What makes this moment even more special is that it’s one of the three films from India that made it to the festival! If you happen to be in the UK, we hope you can watch it, it’s being shown at the Curzon Mayfair on 14th and 15th October.’

The film is jointly written by Aseem Arora, Raghav Raj Kakker and Kashyap Kapoor.

‘The Buckingham Murders’ marks Kareena's debut as a producer. The film has been bankrolled by Ektaa Kapoor.
This film will be Kareena's return to the big screen after her outing in Aamir Khan's ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, which had tanked at the box office.

Kareena Kapoor is also looking forward to the Netflix thriller ‘Jaane Jaan’, which marks her digital debut. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the film also features Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat in pivotal roles. It will release on September 22.
