Om Raut’s ‘Adipurush’, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan, is now in theatres.
The magnum opus witnessed a good advance booking.
It’s too early to predict the film’s box office performance, but the first visuals from movie theatres are being shared on social media.
In one of the now-viral clips, fans are heard screaming ‘Jai Shree Ram’ in unison as a monkey could be seen poking his head from an orifice of the theatre auditorium, looking towards the screen where ‘Adipurush’ is playing.
For the unversed, theatre owners have reserved a seat for Lord Hanuman.
During a trailer event for the film in Tirupati, director Om Raut requested producers to reserve an empty seat in every theater where the film is screened to honour Lord Hanuman.
‘This act symbolizes the reverence and acknowledgment of Lord Hanuman’s spiritual presence during the showcasing of the film ‘Adipurush,’ he said.
‘Adipurush’ is a cinematic adaptation of the Indian epic ‘Ramayana’.
Prabhas will be playing the role of Raghav, while Kriti Sanon will play Janaki.
The film also stars Saif Ali Khan as King Ravana and Sunny Singh as Laxman.
The mythological drama is said to be made on a budget of Rs 300 crore.
The film is jointly bankrolled by Bhushan Kumar’s T-series and Retrophiles.
