Imran Khan has opened up about leaving Bollywood in his prime years. Once a promising star with many hits to his credit, Khan left everyone guessing with his decision to quit. Now, he has finally revealed the reason behind his sudden departure from showbiz.
In an interview with Vogue India, the 'Katti Batti' star said that he hit a low in 2016 where he felt broken inside. He also confessed that he didn't worry about money, and his profession didn't excite him enough to work hard. Khan shared, “Luckily, I was working in an industry that had rewarded me financially, so by the time I was 30, I didn’t have to worry about money.”
He added, "I had recently become a father and thought, ‘This is valuable. This is something I take seriously.’ I wanted to be the best version of myself for Imara. I decided it was no longer my job to be an actor. Now, I had to fix myself; be at my healthiest and strongest for my daughter.”
Imran told Vogue that his life has seen numerous transformations since he left the movie industry. He sold his Ferrari to fund his modest lifestyle, which now consists of living in an apartment in Bandra after leaving his opulent Pali Hill house. He also revealed that he's loving his new eco-friendly lifestyle, and in a display of the same, he proudly donned his ten-year-old suit, which he wore again for his niece Ira Khan's wedding.
Imran Khan made his Bollywood debut with 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' in 2008. He is also known for his films like 'Break Ke Baad', 'Gori Tere Pyaar Mein', 'Delhi Belly', and 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan'.
