The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the official anthem for the upcoming T20 World Cup, slated to begin on June 1 across the Caribbean and the US. Grammy-award-winning artist Sean Paul and SOCA superstar Kes have joined forces for the peppy track.
Produced by Michael "Tano" Montano, the anthem promises to capture the essence of Caribbean music with a touch of international flair. With just 50 days remaining until the spectacle, which will see 20 international countries put up a strong fight for the coveted cup, the anthem will infuse fans with fresh energy.
Expressing his excitement about working on this unique project, Sean said, “I'm a big fan of Kes, and the track will feature a nice touch of the Caribbean, with some dance, an international vibe, and of course, Soca. It will be a real anthem for people to sing out and feel the spirit of unity.”
Echoing similar sentiments, Kes noted, "Our mission has always been about bringing worlds together, so blending cricket (dear to us in the Caribbean) with music is a powerful combination. Shoutouts to Sean Paul, Tano, and the whole team for creating this musical vibe. I can't wait for everyone to sing along to this worldwide anthem and bring the party to stadiums across the West Indies and the USA."
Amid the fan frenzy for the highly anticipated event, the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Trophy Tour continues its journey, with upcoming stops in Barbados, the venue for the tournament final on June 29.
