Actors Dharmendra and Sonu Sood took to social media to condemn the violence in Gurugram. They shared their thoughts and prayers for those affected by the riots.

In his tweet, Dharmendra wondered what is happening, while Sonu shared a few lines about the real damage that the violence has caused.

Dharmendra tweeted, ‘Ye qahar…. kiyon….kis liye ? Bakhsh de Maalik …ab ….. to bakhsh de….. ab bardaasht nahin hota (Why such havoc? For what? Spare us God, we can't bear it anymore).’
In another tweet, he wrote, ‘Apne watan mein Teri duniyan mein mujhe aman skoon bhaichara chahiye (In my country and in your world, I only want peace and brotherhood).’

Sonu Sood shared a couplet on the real cost of violence which loosely translates to, ‘No one's home is burning, no one's shop is on fire. Only humanity is being set afire and man is watching.’
Communal violence began in Haryana’s Nuh on July 31st night and it spilled over into Gurugram a day later, taking the death toll to five.

Authorities clamped a curfew in the Nuh district and several peace committee meetings were organised. The Gurugram Police has urged people to not pay heed to rumours and dial 112 in case of any help.
