Ekta Kapoor reacts to boycott 'Laal Singh Chaddha' trend, calls Aamir Khan a 'soft ambassador'

'Laal Singh Chaddha', starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, has faced serious backlash from the netizens and the demand to boycott the film has been trending on social media. The Advait Chandan directorial released in theatres on August 11 and opened to mixed reviews. The film has managed to gross a little over ₹46 crore at the box office. Now, Ekta Kapoor has come out in support of Aamir's film. Reacting to the boycott trend, the producer in an interview with Navbharat Times, expressed her disappointment and said that people are boycotting those who have given the best of  business in the industry.

She further stated that all the Khans in the industry are legends, especially Aamir Khan and that we cannot boycott them.  

'It is so strange we are boycotting the very people who have given the best of business in the industry. All the Khans in the industry (Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan), and especially Aamir Khan are legends. We cannot boycott them. Aamir Khan can never be boycotted, the soft ambassador Aamir Khan can not be boycotted,' she said.

Recently, a police complaint has also been filed against Aamir Khan, Paramount Pictures (producers) and several others stating that the movie disrespected the Indian Army and hurt Hindu sentiments.  

'Laal Singh Chaddha' is the official Indian adaptation of the 1994 Hollywood movie 'Forrest Gump'.  It also stars Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya in the pivotal roles.
